Artanis

  • Tassadar: Executor, we march to victory.
  • Artanis: For the glory of Aiur!
In the protoss campaign of the first StarCraft, The Fall, Artanis serves as the player character, referred to only as "Executor."
  • Artanis: My mentor, guide us in the fight ahead.
  • Tassadar: Faith before fear, friend.
Tassadar served as Artanis's mentor as he trained to be a Templar warrior.
Emoji Fenix Pack 1 Fenix Happy

Fenix

  • Tassadar: Praetor Fenix, let us meet our enemy in glorious combat.
  • Fenix: I shall stand by you until the end.
Fenix and Tassadar fought alongside one another to kill the Overmind. In the briefing of the StarCraft protoss campaign mission "Homeland," when Fenix reveals the Conclave has condemned Tassadar as a heretic, he tells him "and though I damn myself by doing, I shall stand by you to the end." Praetor is Fenix's rank.
  • Fenix: Greetings to you, Tassadar! I am overjoyed to see you in this dark hour.
  • Tassadar: We shall strike as one.
Fenix's line is a direct quote from his greeting in the briefing in the StarCraft protoss campaign mission "Homeland."
Emoji Kerrigan Pack 1 Kerrigan Happy

Kerrigan

  • Tassadar: It has been a long time, oh Queen of the Zerg.
  • Kerrigan: Fifteen years, at least.
The way Tassadar addresses Kerrigan is similar to his introduction to her in the StarCraft mission "The Dark Templar," "I know you well, oh Queen of the Zerg." When that quote was released it had been 15 real world years since the first StarCraft, when Tassadar died.
  • Kerrigan: I am not your enemy, Tassadar. Things have changed.
  • Tassadar: Yes, you radiate a purple glow now. How very different.
A poke at Kerrigan's new appearance. During Heart of the Swarm, Kerrigan was reinfested from the ground up and became a primal zerg. However, visually all that changed from her Queen of Blades design was that she was colored purple.
Emoji Murky Pack 1 Murky Happy

Murky

  • Tassadar: Curious. What are you?
  • Murky: <Response indicating he is excited and ready to fight>
  • Murky: <Playfully questioning the person next to him>
  • Tassadar: You must let go of your hatred, young one. Vengeance is not the way.
Murky's backstory is that he seeks revenge on the adventurers that killed his family. Tassadar, being protoss and communicating through psionics, can understand Murky.
Emoji Tyrael Pack 1 Tyrael Meh

Tyrael

  • Tassadar: From order comes justice.
  • Tyrael: Indeed.

Emoji Zeratul Pack 1 Zeratul Happy

Zeratul

  • Tassadar: Once more, we are called to battle, Zeratul.
  • Zeratul: And we shall rise to meet it, old friend.
Tassadar and Zertaul allied together on Char to face Kerrigan, bridging a thousand year cultural divide between the Khalai and Nerazim. Zeratul taught Tassadar to channel the power of the Void, giving him the skills he needed to slay the Overmind.
  • Zeratul: En Taro Adun, old friend.

Eliminations

Hero Quote Audio Background
vs. Artanis Rest, young executor. In the protoss campaign of the first StarCraft, The Fall, Artanis is the player character simply referred to as "The Executor," replacing Tassadar after he was disgraced for disobeying the Conclave. Tassadar was the one who trained Artanis in the ways of the Templar.
vs. Brightwing And just what are you supposed to be?
vs. Kerrigan To defeat a swarm, tear out its heart. A play on words of the title of Kerrigan's StarCraft II expansion, Heart of the Swarm.
vs. Raynor I am sorry, friend Raynor. Tassadar and Raynor allied together on Char in order to survive being hunted by Kerrigan, and Raynor aided him in his fight to slay the Overmind. The two became close friends, bridging the gap between their species.
vs. enemy Tassadar A poor imitation.
vs. Zeratul Forgive me, old friend. Tassadar and Zertaul allied together on Char to face Kerrigan, bridging a thousand year cultural divide between the Khalai and Nerazim. Zeratul taught Tassadar to channel the power of the Void, giving him the skills he needed to slay the Overmind.
vs. Zerg hero Aiur will be restored, abomination. During the events of StarCraft, the protoss homeworld of Aiur is overrun by the zerg. Tassadar sacrificed himself to kill the Overmind, thus shattering the Swarm, but the rampaging zerg still forced the surviving protoss to flee their homeworld.
vs. hero with kill streak All things must end.
Generic And thus it ends.
Foolish.
It was destined.
Be at peace.
Fade into eternity.

Quote Audio Background
Yes, executor? One of Tassadar's select quotes in StarCraft. When Tassadar refers to the "executor," he refers to Artanis, who was the player character of the campaign The Fall.
Your will? One of Tassadar's select quotes in StarCraft.
I have no time for games. Oh, alright, but just one more match! "I have no time for games" was one of Tassadar's poke quotes in StarCraft. This references the fact that Heroes of the Storm has him appear in matches, or "games."
And you thought orcs had large shoulder pads. In the Warcraft universe, Orcs are known to have oversized shoulder pads. in StarCraft, the protoss have similarly oversized pauldrons.
I have never tasted death. And since I have no mouth, I do not expect to. A reference to the quote said by the xel'naga Ouros who took the guise of Tassadar's spirit, "I have never tasted death, Zeratul, nor shall I." A reference to the fact protoss have no mouth, and consume sunlight through their skin.
We must call for aid! Executor, bring out the reavers! Reavers are a slow mechanical artillery piece used in StarCraft as a protoss siege unit in multiplayer. In StarCraft II, it was removed from multiplayer, though did appear in the campaign of Legacy of the Void and Co-op Missions. As Tassadar died at the end of StarCraft, he would have no knowledge of this.
What? What do you mean we don't have reavers anymore? Then, send the dragoons! Dragoons are ranged support striders in StarCraft. Much like the reavers, they were removed from multiplayer in StarCraft II, though reappeared in the campaign of Legacy of the Void and Co-op Missions. In Heroes of the Storm, Fenix is a dragoon.
Ugh, then what do you suggest? ...what's a void ray? Void rays are large assault ships with focused prismatic beams introduced into the multiplayer in StarCraft II and created several years after Tassadar's death. As Tassadar died at the end of StarCraft, he would have no knowledge of their invention.
Video games have advanced so much since Starcraft 1. I can hardly even make out the pixels anymore. A poke at the fact that StarCraft was a very graphically low powered game by modern standards, having been released in 1998.
Once you go dark templar, you never go back. A poke at "once you go black, you never go back." Tassadar defied his homeworld to learn the secrets of the Void from Zeratul, a dark templar, giving him the edge he needed to slay the Overmind and its cerebrates.
Thinking back, perhaps I should have purified Mar Sara. In the early stages of the StarCraft campaign, Tassadar was ordered to purify the terran worlds infested by the zerg. However, by the end Tassadar refused to slaughter the terrans, defying the Conclave to try to spare them. Oddly, while Tassadar did hold his fleet back to allow the terrans time to escape, Tassadar did purify the terran colony of Mar Sara of the zerg, making the quote a bit inaccurate.

En Taro... me.

Translation: In honor of... me.
Language: Khalani
After his death, many protoss used the phrase "En Taro Tassadar," as his sacrifice gave them hope even as they had to live in exile from their homeworld.
Here's my number, Khala me maybe. A reference to the Carly Rae Jepsen song "Call Me Maybe." The Khala is the mind link all Khalai protoss like Tassadar share.
Never underestimate the will of a Templar! It is known to be quite strong! A reference to a quote by Kormac the Templar in Diablo III, "but the will of a templar is stronger!" A poke at the fact both Kormac and Tassadar serve orders named the Templar.
Despite what you've heard, psionics are not space magic. They're, like, totally different. Often the psionics of StarCraft are compared to magic, as the amount of things psionics can do cover most fields, ranging from conventional mind powers such as telepathy and telekinesis and more fantasy powers such as communicating with machines and conjuring fire.

Viewed in shop Locked Greetings, strange one.
Owned Hail, Executor. Executor is a high rank in the Templar Caste, which Tassadar formerly held before it was given to Artanis.
Waiting Locked I stand ready. Before the final assault on the Overmind, Tassadar states "Executor! I stand ready!"
Our time is wasting away.
Owned My meditation is complete. Oh, you're still here... Templar warriors are known to go into hours long periods of perfectly still meditation, which looks completely silent to terrans not cued into their psionic link.
Keep your feet on the ground... Unless you're a high templar, that is. High templar like Tassadar float above the ground when they move around. "Keep your feet on the ground" is a dwarf NPC quote from World of Warcraft.

Void and Khala as one! As a last ditch effort to defeat the Overmind, Tassadar channeled both Void and Khala energies into himself, forming a mass of energy capable of destroying the beast but killing himself in the process. Likely also a reference to the Level 20 talent of Tassadar Twilight Archon, which is an archon formed of both Void and Khala energies.
The twilight is upon us! "Twilight" is often referred to as the union of the "light" Khalai and the "dark" Nerazim, with the unified protoss central government being named the Twilight Council. For uniting the two sides of the protoss, Tassadar was named the "Twilight Messiah" after his death,
