Queen Nightshade (also known as the Spore Queen) is the announcer for the Garden of Terror battleground.

Queen Nightshade is the sister to Raena, the Lady of Thorns, and Queen of King's Crest.[1]
Queen Nightshade is a noble of King's Crest. Once the royal gardens were a splendor to behold. But lately a shadow has fallen over them... Writhing tendrils creep across the grounds at night, and a number of servants have disappeared while walking its twisting paths. Queen Nightshade claims to be unaware of these incidents, but some are beginning to suspect she has gone mad.[2]
During the day, she is the friendly, helpful Queen Nightshade; when the sun sets, she becomes the violent and bloodthirsty Spore Queen. The Garden of Terror makes use of this day/night cycle — during the day, seeds sprout in her garden, protected by zombified plant-men dubbed "shamblers" who rise from the earth. Nightshade encourages the heroes to collect these seeds. Once a team has collected three seeds, the night phase begins and the Spore Queen unleashes three Garden Terrors on the enemy team.
According to a picture shown at BlizzCon 2017, Queen Nightshade cursed a knight of Dragon Shire, which turned him into a monster - the Dragon Knight. His children sealed him away and are now ready to fight against Queen Nightshade to protect their fathers kingdom from her infestation.[3]
