Johanna, the Crusader of Zakarum, is a melee Tank Hero from the Diablo universe. There have been many women who have borne the name Johanna in service of the crusade, and each has given her life to purify her faith. Johanna carries on their legacy as she searches the kingdom of Khanduras for the fallen star.[1]

Johanna is a Tank who shines against Physical Attackers and can effectively clear groups of minions.

Johanna represents the Crusader class added to Diablo III in the Reaper of Souls Expansion Pack.

Crusaders are unbending champions of faith and law. These living fortresses use impenetrable plate and towering shields to wade through scores of foes, leaving demonic bodies smoldering in their wake.

The thick of battle is unforgiving, but crusaders rush in without hesitation, relying on holy magic and heavy armor to guarantee victory. Well-trained crusaders are adept at deflecting attacks entirely, often shrugging off massive blows that would fell lesser combatants. If pressed, they can sacrifice speed and mobility for pure staying power.

Bone-crunching flails and wicked shields are perfect for melee, but crusaders are hardly limited to extinguishing evil at close range. When one of these divinely empowered warriors joins battle, blazing fire and blinding light follow, smiting entire packs of enemies who dare to resist judgment.

Gameplay[]

Johanna is a low-mobility, extremely resilient Tank, capable of Blinding, Slowing, Stunning, and pulling enemies. She excels at creating chaos and disruption in the midst of the enemy team for extended periods of time, rather than peeling for her allies, as is typical of other Tanks. Her disruptions are all AoE and therefore more effective when used against multiple enemies.

  • While targeting the landing area, Johanna moves at regular Movement Speed subject to allied and her own Movement Speed buffs applied beforehand.
  • While in the air, Johanna gains vision over the target area.
  • The range indicator for the Ability's initial cast shown in game is incorrect.

  • Enemies that are immune to skillshots cannot be hit by the initial projectile, but can be targeted by bounces as long as they are not also immune to AoE. However, Invulnerable enemies can be hit by the initial projectile and its bounces, they just cannot be damaged or Stunned by any of them (and it can then subsequently bounce off of them as normal also).
